As an artist, I've worked in 2 rather different media--rugweaving and beadwork.  Chronologically, the rugweaving came first.  I wove rugs for over 20 years, and that was what got me started as an artist.  But some years ago, I began experimenting with beadwork. What has interested me here is the ability to expand my designs into 3 dimensions. I build geometric structures out of beads, combining individual shapes into more complex ones that form necklaces, bracelets, vessels and other objects. Some of my structures are based on engineered works; others derive from molecular forms.
My recent beadwork has involved hand cut metal tubes used as beads.  Most often I cut and oxidize tubes of sterling silver.  The darkened silver gives a sort of bridge truss-ish look to the work, which enhances the open metal structures.  Often I embellish the work with accents of stone beads or tubes of other metals ( colored aluminum or gold)

Below is a partial resume for both  the rugs and beadwork.
